Cam and Kinari Webb are an impressive couple. The two live in Sukadana, a ‘village’ of 12,000 in Borneo, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, right next to Gunung Palung National Park. Cam is an ecologist with an impressive track record in tropical rainforest ecology, molecular phylogenetics, and bioinformatics, including the development of several software applications. Paul Hawken is an entrepreneur, visionary environmental activist, and founder of Wiser Earth. In early May 2009 Paul delivered a commencement address at the University of Portland, OR. I will never forget it. This is an excerpt:

If you haven’t met TED yet, open your calendar right this minute and block off an hour you can spend browsing their site. TED is extraordinary, TED is mind blowing, TED is like nothing else. Their tag line is “Riveting talks by remarkable people, free to the world” and so it is.
The first talk to watch is “Jill Bolte Taylor’s stroke of insight” – this will sufficiently expand your reality and introduce you to TED. From there you can’t miss – dive in and go exploring. You will never be the same.
